Residents of Ikulu, Chori, Ungwan Rimi and Samban Daji in Zangon Kataf and Jaba local government areas of Kaduna State have expressed happiness over the construction of classrooms and clinic in their communities.

Handing over the completed projects to the communities, the member representing Zangon Kataf/Jaba federal constituency, Amos Gwamna Magaji, said he would continue to address identified basic needs undermining the development of the area.

The lawmaker tasked community development associations to further collaborate with political ward chairmen in identifying other needs that would have direct bearing on their lives.

Rifkatu Ishaya, a resident of Ikulu chiefdom, who spoke with Arewa Trust Weekly, said before the construction of the additional block of classes, some of their students sat under trees while other classes were overpopulated.

“The new blocks will decongest the classrooms and lead to effective learning and better performance by students,” she said.

Ladi Sama’ila from Chori village said, “We are indeed very grateful. One of our problems now is how to get more teachers for the children.”

A resident of Ungwan Rimi, who identified himself as

Istifanus, said, “Our children were sitting on stones while others sat outside the classrooms due to the deplorable situation, but with this donation of classes and chairs, we can now focus on something else.”

Earlier, the Agom Akulu of Ikulu chiefdom, Yohanna Sidi Kukah, the Kpop Ham of Jaba and other traditional leaders lauded the people-oriented projects and urged the communities to ensure they were properly maintained.

The lawmaker also distributed learning materials and bags to four schools, including, Government Junior Secondary School, Fadan Kamantan; Government Secondary School, Jankasa and Government Junior and Secondary School, Ngarshang Kwoi.
