Gov Sule tasks journalists on objective reportage
Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has called on media professionals to remain steadfast in their roles as key drivers to the unity and stability of the country.
Governor Sule made the call in an interview at the end of a special Juma’at prayer to mark 2021 Nasarawa State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists Press Week in Lafia.
The Governor stated that leaders rely solely on the media to succeed in the service to humanity and called on journalists to shun practices capable of causing disaffection among the people.
Governor Abdullahi Sule who said the success story about his administration could not be complete without the contribution of the media called on journalists in the state to remain united and focused in discharging their duties.
He commended leadership of NUJ Nasarawa State council for organising a press week and urged journalists to use the period for self appraisal with the aim of charting a new course for a better society.
State Chairman of NUJ, Salihu Alkali said the event is marked to ginger practitioners on the zeal to contribute in developing Nasarawa and Nigeria.
Similarly, the Governor tasked journalists to continue patriotic while discharging their duties with the view of ensuring peace, unity and development of the country.
He was represented by his deputy, Dr Emmanuel Akabe who made the statement at a thanksgiving which took place at Evangelical Reformed Church of Christ (ERCC) Gloryland Lafia.
Head of service, Commissioner of Information, media practitioners attended the service.
