Re: When will Hon Doguwa stop selective spread of federal opportunities?

Iread with dismay an article with the above caption authored by a so-called Alhassan Burji, who claimed to be an Abuja-based journalist. Initially I chose to be silent for there is a Hausa saying that: “idan mafadin magana wawa ne masu jinsa ba wawaye ba ne” which literally means if a speaker on an issue is a fool, his listeners are not fools; but I later decided to respond due to the following reasons:

I) The author used Burji as his surname, and Burji is one of the most respected towns in Hon Doguwa’s Constituency that has immensely benefited from the said federal opportunities ranging from infrastructure to human capital development. For instance, over 70% of today’s Government Secondary School Burji was constructed by Hon Doguwa. Recently, three classroom blocks were constructed by Hon Doguwa in Dogon Kawo, this is in addition to many motorized boreholes in Burji and Dogon Kawo; many solar-powered streetlights; mosques at Burji Bakin Kasuwa, Beguwa, and Dogon Kawo; a culvert in Gulbai to mention but a few projects. Also, I believe the actual Burji people can’t disown Naziru Auwalu Yusuf (a Procurement Officer with the National Assembly Service Commission) and Abubakar Musa Shuaibu (a Graduate Assistant at FUT Minna).

Likewise, over 200 youths and women from Burji have benefited from Hon Doguwa’s Strategic Empowerment Programmes. Also, in 2020 over 20 people from Burji benefited from NIRSAL MFB COVID-19 loan courtesy of the House Leader.

II) He claimed that Burji alone has over 50 unemployed graduates. I wonder where he got these numbers, for I know there is no single town, including Riruwai, the local government headquarters, that once hosted a former British Prime Minister, John Major, and produced vice chancellors of three universities (ABU, BUK, and KUST Wudil) will have 20 graduates that are unemployed. For this, I will advise the ghost author to get in touch with the leader of Burji people in Abuja (Badamasi Burji) for guidance.

I can say without any fear of contradiction that if you give Hon Doguwa from now to the end of the 9th House of Representatives to list those he secured employment for in various federal government agencies he can hardly finish, for I believe he has forgotten many and did not even know most of those he secured jobs for. Same for infrastructural development.

III) The ghost author also claimed that Hon Doguwa gives or even sells federal vacancies given to him for his constituents elsewhere, citing a letter from his office when he was Chief Whip of the 8th House of Representatives recommending some Nigerians for possible employment in some federal government agencies. This made me to ask myself if this ghost was really a journalist as he claimed to be, because I believe even a diploma student of Mass Communication should know that a principal officer in any parliament has the whole country as his constituency, therefore, Hon Doguwa’s constituents in the 8th House of Representatives when he was the Chief Whip and now as the House Leader are the entire Nigerians with Doguwa/Tudunwada as his primary constituency.
