- From Hassan Ibrahim (Bauchi) & Ibrahim Musa Giginyu (Kano)

Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa’ikamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS) in Bauchi State has said that the allegation levelled against the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Ali Pantami, is targeted at President Muhammadu Buhari.

JIBWIS equally pleaded with the federal government to take action against people with “questionable character who have never hidden their desire to see the failure and disintegration of Nigeria.”

Bauchi State Chairman of JIBWIS, Barrister Garba Hassan, who disclosed in a statement made available to newsmen at the weekend, defended the minister over an alleged link to AlQaeda.

Hassan said that JIBWIS observed with “dismay that the pull-him-down war being waged against Dr Pantami in his current position as a senior member of President Buhari’s cabinet is nothing other than the pursuit of the sheer hatred, grudges and ill-will being nursed against the President himself.”

Similarly, the North East Youth for Peace and Good Governance (NEYPAGG) has passed a vote of confidence on the minister of communication and digital economy.

In a communique issued in Bauchi and signed by the President and Secretary General Salisu J. Sambo and Akevi John respectively and made available to newsmen yesterday the group said their decision to pass a vote of confidence and stood behind the minister was to encourage him to continue the good work he had been doing.

Meanwhile, youth’s group under the auspices of African Youth Assembly for Peace have staged a peaceful protest in support of Dr Pantami.

Speaking immediately after the peaceful demonstration, leader of the group Ali Wali said Nigeria as a nation wasn’t oblivion of the positive development singlehandedly brought to the communication sector in particular and the nation in general by the minister.
