Diplomats hails Buni’s effort to reposition APC
Agroup of non-career ambassadors, newly appointed by President Buhari, on Monday paid a courtesy call on Yobe State Governor and Chairman, APC Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, at the National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress in Abuja.
Director-General, Press Affairs to the Governor, Mamman Mohammed, in a statement, said the group commended Governor Buni for breathing a new lease of life into the party when it was “nearly collapsing”.
“The ambassadors, who pledged their loyalty to the ruling party, said the party now gives every member a new sense of hope.
“The ambassadors, who gave Governor Buni an incredibly special standing ovation, commended the caretaker committee for taking critical decisions, including the membership registration and revalidation exercise to put the party on a sound footing.
“Gov. Buni charged the ambassadors to promote the image of the nation in their host countries.
“He (Buni) urged the envoys to contribute meaningfully to finding solutions to the challenges the country is facing,” Mohammed stated.
He said Buni also implored the ambassadors to build positive relationships with their host countries in order to attract investment opportunities to boost the economy of the country.
“APC cherishes healthy relationship with the international community for government to actualize the party manifesto to improve the lives of Nigerians”, the statement quoted Buni to have said.
