- From Maryam Ahmadu-Suka, Kaduna

Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamali, has urged Muslims to continuously seek Allah’s forgiveness to end the mirage of challenges facing the nation, especially insecurity.

The emir, who spoke at the 10th Annual Ramadan lecture organised by the Sabil Charitable International Organisation in Kaduna, said Muslims across board must return to Allah and seek forgiveness. “Allah is angry with us, that is why we are faced with numerous challenges.”

He stressed that the government cannot tackle the problems on its own and called on citizens to come together and protect themselves by engaging in neighbourhood watch.

He noted that the role of traditional leaders to register new members in every community is key to checkmating the problem of insecurity facing communities.

Guest lecture, Shaikh Kabiru Gombe, who spoke on the topic, “Sign of the End Time: COVID-19 and Other Related Security Challenges of the Present Time” also harped on the need for Muslims to continuously seek forgiveness from Allah for only Allah knows when the world will end.

According to him, “Allah deliberately hid the end time from mankind so that He can test us and know the rightful Muslims who worshipped Allah and constantly asked for forgiveness.”

He added that Allah has mentioned 133 signs of the end time in the Qur’an and 120 of them have been revealed.

The president of the organisation, Halimatu Sadiya Abdu, said the organisation focuses on promoting and improving the welfare of the less privileged and vulnerable members of the society.

She said the Ramadan lecture was aimed at improving the spiritual, moral and economic quality of life of the people and also to equip them with sound values that are essential for peaceful co-existence.
