Condolence­s as Adeboye’s son dies at 42

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Enoch Adeboye, has lost his son, Pastor Dare Adeboye, at 42.

The late Dare died in his sleep on Wednesday in Eket, Akwa Ibom State, where he was based with his family.

He was the Assistant Pastor in charge of Region (Youth) 35.

The Head of Media and Public Relations, RCCG, Pastor Olaitan Olubiyi, confirmed the incident.

Reacting to the incident yesterday, President Muhammadu Buhari extended sympathy to the family of Pastor Adeboye on the passing of his son.

President Buhari, in a statement issued on Thursday by his spokesman, Femi Adesina, also condoled with members of the RCCG.

The President prayed to God Almighty to grant the departed rest in His everlastin­g kingdom and comfort grieving family, friends and associates.

The Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Kunle Somorin, on Thursday, expressed shock over the death of the young, vibrant and spirit-filled pastor, who, according to him, was a role model not only to the youth in the RCCG, but in the country.

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Gboyega Akosile, also encouraged the bereaved to take the death of Pastor Dare in good faith.

While reacting, Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotim­i Akeredolu, in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Richard Olatunde, described the sudden death of the late Dare as tragic and a huge loss to Christendo­m, Adeboye’s dynasty and the youths, considerin­g the role of the deceased in youth mentorship as a Regional Youth Evangelist.

Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, also described the death of Pastor Adeboye's son as an unfortunat­e developmen­t which has inflicted a wound in the hearts of family members in particular, the Christian community, all lovers of Adeboye and Nigerians in their millions.
