Ex-Eagles coordinator, Attah, supports FCT SWAN week with trophies, cash
A former Coordinator of the
Eagles and Director, General Services of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mr. Emmanuel Danjuma Attah yesterday donated trophies, footballs and cash to the FCT Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN).
While making the donation aimed at assisting the sports writers to revive the moribund SWAN week, the former junior international also charged them to champion the revival of sports in Nigeria.
Attah who was the Coordinator when Super Eagles won the 2013 AFCON and featured at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil said he made the donations in his capacity as a friend of SWAN.
“I want you to use these items as a
Super springboard to reviving your SWAN week competitions and for you to help in the development of sports in the country. All hands must be on the deck to regain our lost glories,” said the former
FCT FA chairman.
On his part, the Chairman of FCT SWAN, Comrade Bunmi Haruna thanked the donor and acknowledged his selfless contributions to sports development in the FCT and Nigeria in general.
He said “You have contributed so much to sports especially football and we can’t forget in a hurry your contributions during the exploits of the Super Eagles on their way to 2013 AFCON victory in South Africa.
“We want to commend you, Late Stephen Keshi and the crew for the wonderful job you did for Nigeria. You have also been supportive right from when I served under you as a Corps member,” he concluded.
