- By Vincent A. Yusuf

An Abuja-based property developer, Brains & Hammers, has said its Bungalow City currently being developed, when completed, will be bigger than the popular Gwarinpa Estate in terms of number of houses.

The CEO of Brains & Hammers, Kabir Umar Gano, who spoke to Daily Trust, said Bungalow City was an affordable housing project that was synonymous with quality output.

He stated that the city, located along the Kubwa Expressway, was started two years ago with 6,000 housing units sitting on 400 hectares.

Mr Gano said, “We are partnering with Inverness Wealth Management, we started with 367 housing units, then with ARM for another 315, then with Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN), to build 111 houses for FCT High Court Judges and also 1,250 housing units for civil servants in Abuja.”

He explained that COVID-19 slowed down the pace of work at the site, but that it was expected to be completed in 2023/24.

He said, “In Abuja, we have about 11 housing project sites, in Apo 1 to 5, Life Camp Phases 1 and 2, Galadimawa, Games Village and Garki, Wuse, and Wuye districts.”

According to him, Bungalow City comes with all the amenities in line with Brains & Hammers’ standard, explaining that, “We’re acquiring 150 additional hectares to make it 550 hectares. So we advise those not on board the Brains & Hammers train to do so, for those with cooperatives we are flexible and affordable and we build to fit individual tastes.”
