- By Simon Echewofun Sunday

Acting Managing Director and CEO of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Engr. Sule Ahmed Abdulaziz, has tasked the management staff on synergy towards expanding the national electricity grid and improving efficiency.

According to a statement by Ndidi Mbah, the TCN spokesperson, Engr. Abdulaziz gave the charge while addressing executive directors, general managers as well as regional heads of TCN at the opening session of the TCN management retreat at Ibom Icon Hotel and Golf Resort, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, recently.

Speaking on the theme ‘Managing Change in a Renewed Organisation’, Engr. Abdulaziz said the retreat was aimed at achieving the strategic objective of giving TCN a new direction to enable it to lead in West Africa.

“You will agree

with me that so much change has occurred both in our organization and the marketplace that requires us to redouble our efforts to ensure that we move TCN to the next level in operational efficiency.”

The TCN boss said this is more important at a time the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration is working to reverse the deficit in power supply.

“I must thank you all for your respective contributions to our modest achievements so far. Together, we have expanded and also brought a measure of stability and discipline to the grid, substantially upgraded our facilities, and are more able to evacuate more electrical power to distribution load centres nationwide,” said Engr. Abdulaziz.

Shortly before declaring the retreat open, he said it provides a platform for the participants to synergize and improve on team work.
