Gombe Assembly passes vote of confidence on Gov. Inuwa Yahaya
The Gombe State House of Assembly has unanimously passed a vote of confidence on Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya in appreciation of the remarkable impact he has made in the areas of education, healthcare, water, road construction, agriculture and other infrastructural developments within the two years of his stewardship.
Moving a motion to that effect at plenary yesterday, House leader Hon Ladan Yerima Gaule said the construction of rural roads, rural water supply and electrification, construction and renovation of hospitals and health centres as well as distribution and sales of fertilizers to farmers at subsidized rate by the governor had put on smiles on the hitherto gloomy faces of their constituents.
He said the governor’s ability to achieve a lot within the lean resources of the state after creating an atmosphere of peace within two years is a clear testimony of his prudence in management of resources and his zeal to realize his dream – the dream of the founding fathers of Gombe State.
This feat, according to him, is worthy of commendation.
Gayle, therefore, moved that the House pass a vote of confidence on the governor.
In their separate contributions, Honourables Musa Buba (Balanga North), Samuel Markus Wina (Pero Chonge), Adamu Sale Pata (Yamaltu East) and Shuaibu Adamu Haruna (Kwami East) concurred with the submission of the house leader.
They said the submission of the house leader reflected the collective position of the entire members of the House.
They maintained that the governor’s unprecedented developmental record within a short period is a source of pride to all state legislators and indeed the people of their constituencies.
Speaking shortly after passage of the vote of confidence on the governor , the Speaker Rt. Hon. Abubakar Mohammed Luggerewo, appreciated the governor for creating atmosphere of mutual respect between the executive and theegislature as well as prompt execution of laws and resolutions of the House.
The speaker also commended the
Governor Yahaya for evenly spreading the dividends of democracy to all the 114 wards in the state.
He assured the governor of the unflinching support, loyalty and cooperation of theegislature in his bid to continuously ensure the development of the youth and a prosperous state.
