Anambra gov’ship: APGA, ZLP bicker over Soludo
One of the political parties that have fielded candidates for the November 6, 2021 Anambra State governorship election, the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), has described the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Prof. Charles Soludo, as the most unsuitable person to govern the state.
A statement issued on Sunday by the Spokesman for ZLP Campaign Council, Afam Dozie Ofomata, said Soludo lacks the pedigree and credibility to be governor of the state and is not a match to its candidate for the election.
“It is public knowledge that Soludo has never had anything to offer Anambra. Prof. Soludo cannot comfortably point to any landmark project for the benefit of Anambra people in his five years as CBN governor, even a project as ordinary as a hospital he raised money for in memory of his mother is abandoned.
“It is indeed pathetic that Prof. Soludo is coming out to seek the governorship seat after his infamous claim that ‘it is not broken.’ As a man long used to theories, Soludo has failed to hear the verdict of Anambra people that Anambra is broken and therefore needs serious and urgent mending,” the ZLP campaign council said.
But reacting, the Anambra State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr C. Don Adinuba, said those accusing Soludo were afraid of his pedigree, adding that the former CBN governor had done many good things.
“In Anambra today, everybody is talking about Soludo, including those who are against him. This means that Soludo is a household name in the governorship race,” he said.
