-

At least 250 villagers of Agatu extraction in Benue State have benefitted from the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) Intervention Programme of the International NonGovernmental Organisation,

Christian Aid, UK Nigeria.

The organisation supported the enrolment of 250 persons during the health coverage intervention in Agatu Local Government Area of the state for vulnerable groups such as the physically challenged, under-aged children, pregnant women, widows and other indigent citizens.

Speaking about the initiative, the Programme Officer of Ohonyeta Care Givers who is the implementing partner of the programme, Daniel Oyigogha, said that the Christian Aid, UK Nigeria was working in collaboration with Ohonyeta Care Givers to deliver strategic health issuance services and link potential enrollees to the scheme.

Oyigogha said that the intervention was also part of the support Christian Aid is rendering to both the state and federal government on quality and accessible healthcare delivery.

The gesture excited the beneficiaries who are from the five Enugba communities in Agatu with many saying the exercise marked an unprecedented enrolment of free universal health coverage in their area.

The leader of Zone C, Benue State Basic Healthcare Provision Fund, Nomo Jeremiah, said the programme will serve as a boost to various health intervention programmes of the state.
