Wikki Tourists set continental target in 2022 NPFL season
The Chairman of Wikki Tourists, Balarabe Douglas, has said his club is making adequate arrangements to win the 2022 NPFL season and qualify to represent Nigeria in the continent.
He made the declaration at the unveiling of the team’s newly appointed Technical Adviser, Coach Kabiru Dogo.
Douglas said that the inspiration to change the fortunes of the club was drawn from the moral, spiritual and financial support of the Bauchi State governor, Bala Mohammed.
“With the massive support of His Excellency, Governor Bala Mohammed,Wikki Tourists escaped relegation last season. We are counting on his continued support to spring surprises in the new season.
“Wikki Tourists are now in high spirits. We have the right players and technical team. Our main target now is to win the 2022 NPFL title and secure continental slot,” he stated.
Douglas said when he was made the chairman of the club, he met underperforming coaches who were immediately replaced.
“We have made the necessary changes and I believe by the grace of God, we shall regain our lost glory,” he assured.
The Chairman also appealed to the supporters of the club and the people of the state to continue to give maximum support to the club and management to actualize their mission of winning the NPFL and other competitions in the coming season.
In the same vein, he commended members of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Bauchi State Chapter and other practising journalists in the state for their unwavering support.
It will be recalled that Wikki Tourists escaped relegation on the final day of the 2021 NPFL season.
