Gunmen abduct man, 3 women in Abuja
Amiddle-aged man, alongside three women whose names are yet to be identified, were abducted by gunmen while returning from a farm at Rafindaji community, in Gulida Chiefdom of Abaji Area Council.
A resident of the community, Shuaibu Danlami, said the incident happened on Sunday, around 6:08pm when the victims, who reside at Anguwar
Yunusa, were returning home after harvesting yam.
He said the victims crossed paths with gunmen that immediately whisked them into the bush at gunpoint.
The village Chief of Gulida Chiefdom, Sadauna Abubakar, who confirmed the incident to our reporter, said a man and three women were abducted by the gunmen.
“They were actually coming back from the farm where they went to harvest yam when they were picked up by gunmen. And until this moment I am talking to you, I don’t know if contact has been established with their abductors but I will send my palace aide to go and find out,” he said.
News also learnt that two Tiv farmers, Ezekiel Tsenongu and Clement Ubun, who were abducted by bandits on a motorcycle while returning from neighbouring Madani village, in the area three weeks ago, have regained their freedom after N1 million ransom was said to have been paid to their abductors.
Aside from the N 1million, a bag of rice, cartons of spaghetti and drinks as well as drugs were also presented as ransom to the kidnappers.
The spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, DSP Adeh Josephine, said the farmland where the incident happened is under the jurisdiction of Niger State Police Command, therefore she wouldn’t speak for them.
