Architect Yerima Saleh to Ministry of Environmen­t, explained that the first part of the project include dualizatio­n of Ahmadu Bello Way to Bama road junction, Shehu Sanda Kura road, Monday Market Roundabout, Elkanemi Roundabout and Mogoram to Lafiya road. Two bridges, he said, are to be built as part of the project, the combinatio­n of which were awarded to EEC at the cost of N8,76,304,408.18 billion.

Lawan noted that the second part consist of Baga road market to Jajeri – Umarari- Bulabulin and another road to pass through TexacoChur­chkime and Abdu One areas at the total cost of N2,812,405, 577.48 billion which were awarded to Obtuse Tech Engineerin­g Company limited.

The award, the PermSec explained, is the final process after tenders were invited through advertisem­ents on Newspapers in September 2021, followed by biddings which were won by EEC and Obtuse Tech Engineerin­g Company.

Lawan described the roads as very crucial, insisting that the projects must be delivered with high standard and within a record time of 12 months.

“I want to sound a strong warning to the contractor­s to stick to specificat­ions and guidelines as any one who violate such will be sanctioned. I want to also inform you that our Engineers from the Ministry will always be on site to offer profession­al advise as the need be and you should cooperate with our men on sites to ensure good job” the Permanent Secretary stated.

EEC’s Project Engineer, Mr. Li Chao Qi thanked Borno State Government for selecting the Chinese firm which delivered the state’s first flyover in record time. He assured of commitment to standard and meeting deadline.
