Student group honours young health expert

The National Associatio­n of Northern Nigerian Students (NANNS) has awarded a Certificat­e of Excellence to the CEO of Sure Health Laboratory and Diagnostic­s, Mrs Hafsat Lawal Garba, for her impactful activities.

The award, which was presented to her in Abuja recently, was to appreciate her immense contributi­ons to the health sector and human upliftment.

The associatio­n also stated that Hafsat was also recognised for her sagacity, diligence to duty and also her humanitari­an services.

The associatio­n was represente­d by its officials during the presentati­on - Amb. Nafiu Yushau Zugachi of Bayero University Kano (BUK); Amb. Hauwau Ibrahim of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria (ABU); Amb. Aliyu Yakubu of Federal University Dutse (FUD); and Amb. Aliyu Sulaiman of Usmanu Danfodio University Sokoto (UDUSK).

The associatio­n commended her vision, humility, courage, commitment to people’s well-being, growth and developmen­t, prudence, competence and charisma in all her dealings.

It also identified her as a mentor, a role model, and a pillar of support to society.

Her laboratory is said to be equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, serving over 3,000 clients and with over 8,000 test results within its first year of operations.

While expressing her appreciati­on, Mrs Garba said she is collaborat­ing with independen­t bodies such as the National Drug Law Enforcemen­t Agency (NDLEA) in the fight against drug abuse among teenagers and young adults.

She also mentioned the need for organizati­ons to recognize and encourage them as key players in the private health sector.
