Late Hir buried in Benue
The late Daily Trust Jos Bureau Chief, Joseph Hir, was interred yesterday at his family residence in Tyogbenda, Udende village in Kastina Ala local Government Area of Benue State.
Hir died after a brief illness on March 10, at the Federal Medical Centre in Makurdi.
Speaking at the funeral ceremony held in his village, the Managing Editor of Media Trust Limited, Theophilus Abbah, expressed grief over the death of Hir, saying, the company has lost a brilliant journalist.
“The late Hir was a brilliant journalist who practised journalism the way we (Daily Trust) want it practised. His death is a huge loss to Daily Trust. It is sad that he died in his prime,” he said.
Abbah added that the deceased journalist was one of the best in the stable of Media Trust, as he prayed God to grant him eternal rest. He also condoled with the family the late journalist left behind.
Others who paid glowing tribute to the late Hir were his colleagues from Benue, Nasarawa and Plateau states, where he served at various times.
