Meningitis: Ogun nurses to visit Sokoto

The National President of the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives, (NANNM), Abdulrafiu Adeniji, has disclosed that its members will visit Sokoto State on Tuesday to sympathize with victims of meningitis.

Also, the Ogun State Government yesterday hinted of surveillance to guide against the importation of the deadly diseases from neighbouring states and countries.

Adeniji, who briefed newsmen during the World Health Day celebration in Abeokuta, said the nurses’ visit would also include donation of items.

He used the briefing to alert nurses to ensure and comply with all safety rules, including getting the anti-meningitis vaccines.

The Ogun State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Babatunde Ipaye, in an interview with newsmen in Abeokuta, said that all borders in the state have been put on red alert.
