FG flag-off N500m earth dam water scheme

The Federal Government yesterday flagged -off the construction of an earth dam at Otuo in Owan-East Local Government of Edo State. Speaking during the inaugration, the Managing-Director, Benin-Owena River Basin Development Authority, Mr Saliu Ahmed, said the N500 million would serve the people of Otuo and several other communities in both Owan-East and West local governments areas.

Also, member representing Owan Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Pally Iriase, said the Federal Government would undertake massive construction of dams to boost agriculture.

The contractor handling the project, Mr Tony Idirisu, said it would entail the construction of the 1.5 metres high dam which would provide about 3.47 million cubic litres of water with a completion period of 12 months.
