Itchy bum

I read through the (Health corner) of Tambari publication of April 2, 2017. Please what medication can I apply, I have been having itching on my bum (from the centre of my bum bum). I have taken some medicines prescribed by a doctor but it has not stopped. It forms boil most times. Please help. Amaka

The way you described it it is likely helminthiasis that is worms. See your family physician for proper examination and investigations. Part of the investigations will include stool microscopy. The boil seen there may be due to secondary bacterial infection due to itching and scratches. A combination of antihelminthics and antibiotics will resolve the issue.
