19 Killed in Road Accident

No fewer than 19 persons including women and children died while 15 others were injured in an auto crash which occurred on Friday along the BichiKatsina road in Kano State.

Daily Trust on Sunday gathered that the incident which occurred at Rimayen Rake village in Bichi Local Government Area of Kano State, involved a Peugeot J5 and 28-seater Toyota Corolla bus.

Confirming the incident, the Acting Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ahmad Tijjani Muhammad, said 34 persons were involved in the accident.

Muhammad added that the injured victims were rushed to the Bichi General Hospital for medical attention.

He further stated that the incident was caused by speed limit violation and wrong overtaking.
