Arewa, Biafra agitators undergo training on ethnic harmony
Leaders of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), Oodua Peoples’ Congress (OPC) and Arewa Youths, have been urged to work together for the progress of the country.
The Chairman, Foundation for Ethnic Harmony in Nigeria (FEHN), Chief Allen Onyema, who gave this advice yesterday during the opening of a fiveday non-violence training for the groups, said the absence of peace in the country was due to lack of “oneness” among ethnic groups.
The five-day training being organized by FEHN, a non -governmental organization founded by Onyema, who is also the Chairman of Air Peace, is in response to recent agitations by the youths.
Onyema explained that the training was geared towards establishing good relationship among leaders of the groups.
He said, “it is my belief that without peace, there won’t be any progress, we need peace and justice in this country and we can’t just leave the government and politicians to handle this issue alone”.
