2017 African Patrons Cup Polo Gets October Date
Preparations are in top gears for this year’s African Patrons Cup Polo Championship that traditionally holds annually in Kaduna with all the big names of Nigerian polo and their counterparts from abroad, showcasing their skills in a truly continental polo extravaganza.
A release by the organizers indicate that the international polo festival is scheduled to gallop off from Monday, October 9 and excite till Sunday, October 15, 2017.
A release signed by Fifth Chukker Polo Captain, Babangida Hassan also listed two traditional prizes to be competed for during the polo fiesta.
The prizes are the Patrons Cup and General Hassan Katsina Cup that would be competed for by two high-goals and seven mediumgoal teams drawn from major polo centers across the country.
The event is billed to hold at its traditional venue, the Fifth Chukker Polo and Country Club Lawns of the Kangimi Resort in Kaduna.
Last year saw Ahmed Wadada’s Keffi Ponys and Maurice Ekpenyong’s Abuja Almat Group outpacing all comers to clinch the two main prizes.
