- By Anthony Maliki

The Delta State Police Command has arrested one Osita Musa believed to be the mastermind of the attack that killed four non-indigenes at the Abraka market on Friday evening. Osita, 25, had escaped when the police swooped on the gang at a hotel in Asaba, the Delta State capital, based on a tip-off, the state police commissioner, Zanna Ibrahim, said.

The police boss said Osita, also known as “Last burial,” is a native of Lafia, Nasarawa State.

Two members of the gang, Abraham Ndudu, 24, of Kwale, Delta State and Okereke Ifeanyi, 21, from Ogbaru in Anambra State, were arrested hiding inside the ceiling in an earlier raid.

Daily Trust on Sunday gathered that the market is dominated by non-indigenes.

Earlier, the state police commissioner said the attack took place at about 10: 45pm when men wearing black dresses stormed the market.

The Hausa community leader (Sarkin Hausawan Delta), Ibrahim Gero, had also confirmed the killing to an online medium Daily Nigerian, saying the Nigerian Army, police and SSS had cordoned off the area.

“Four Hausa residents were killed in Abraka, while many of them are injured. A bomb was planted in my house. It was just defused by the police this night,” he told the online newspaper.
