Dino accuses Kogi gov’t of attack

Senator Dino Melaye (KogiAPC) has accused the Kogi State Government of sponsoring yesterday’s attack on during the Kabba Day Celebration at Kabba.

He told Daily Trust on Sunday on phone that “I had a triumphant entry at the venue of the Kabba Day celebration today (yesterday). All the entire people at the stadium supported me.

“I made my speech to the admiration of all. I urged youth to shun violence and be united. It was after that, that I made my donation and I was already leaving the venue when thugs sponsored by the state government started misbehaving,” he said.

He said some of the thugs have been arrested by the Police in Kogi State.

It was gathered that the Senator was descending from the podium towards his vehicle when the thugs emerged from the crowd and started throwing missiles towards his direction.

However, Dino was shielded by his security aides and escaped from the venue.

When contacted, spokesman of the Kogi Police Command, William Aya said he was yet to get the report of the incidence.
