I’M NOT BETTER THAN ANYONE, BUT I’M DIFFERENT FROM EVERYONE

- TAMBARI

Probably Twitter: that’s where all the intelligent conversations are. My “mayafi”: I love them in bright colours. Flats definitely I’m not into price tags. Tight clothing: they are just so uncomfortable.

Rural Adamawa because you can see nature in its true form: Adamawa State is really beautiful. Jos also. I watch my favourite sitcoms. I love to laugh. I spend time with family and loved ones. “I’m not better than anyone, but I’m different from everyone.” Simple and comfortable

I’m an advocate of small businesses and bespoke. So any good tailor will sew my clothes.

I really don’t attach much value to material things. But I love scents and my favourite is Cherry in the Air by Escada. The best advice my mum gave me was at a time when I was going through some difficulties in life. One night we both were in the kitchen and she said to me, “Never stop improving yourself. Go on and become a professor; if there’s an academic status even higher than that, go for it. I will always support you.”

I used to love basketball when I was younger. I even played a bit while I was in school.

My favourite colour is pink. I am indifferent about cars. I mean, they’re just means of transport. Weather; I really love cold weather. My favourite day is whenever I am off duty. I don’t have a normal week like most people do. As far as I can remember since I began working as a journalist, I have been working on most weekends. So, whenever I get time off to just relax, I am happy.

For my skincare I use lots of natural products. I love essential oils, so I use them a lot. Coconut oil is my all-time favourite because you can use it for so many things.

My parents are my role models: my father because he is so hardworking and sociable. My father is the most jovial person ever. I have always been a daddy’s girl. If I have any difficulties in life he is the one I always confide in; and my mum who instilled discipline in me from a very young age. I think she is a super woman. She managed to take proper care of her children even with a hectic career in banking.

Everything happens for a reason: the good, the bad and the ugly. Sometimes it might seem like you have been dealt a difficult blow, but trust me, it’s just a short stop on the beautiful journey of life. I would tell a younger me not to ever make hasty decisions; especially in anger.

Nigerian artiste Wizkid was spotted visiting the area where he grew up, the slums of Ojuelegba, Lagos.

One of his biggest songs off his album “Ayo” is named after the neighbourhood.

He shared a few pictures and videos on his Instagram where he was surrounded by fans from the area which he captioned “Small London! #Home.”

Media mogul and author Toke Makinwa shared what she wants for her birthday and it’s none other than professional boxer, Anthony Joshua.

She shared a picture of the October issue of British GQ Magazine on her Instagram which Joshua graced the cover and captioned it “For those of you who don’t know my birthday is on Friday… #Yum #ManLikeAnthonyJoshua #BirthdayWish.”

Makinwa turns 33 on November 3rd.
