Why is deliverance necessary? (2)
Who needs deliverance?
translated from the Hebrew word yarash which means to drive out previous occupants, to seize, succeed.
(Apostles) “But on Mount Zion there shall be deliverance, and there shall be a sanctuary; and the house of Jacob shall take for an inheritance those that took them for an inheritance.”
1. Get rid of sin, and reverse the curse (the cause of bondage).
And after one has been delivered, it is imperative that one stays away from sin completely. Jesus would often say, “Go and sin no more, lest a worst thing befalls you.”The curse over your life is reversed, in Jesus name! 2. Get rid of the devil (enforcer of the curse): our favour.
3. Possess your possessions: The word possess is translated from the Hebrew word yarash which also means to forcefully seize. Jesus said the same thing in the New Testament when he said in Matthew 11:12, “And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.” A vital component of deliverance is to forcefully recover what has been stolen from you by the enemy (the devil and his agents) not by physical means but through targeted prayers and fasting; using the Word of God. We don’t fight flesh and blood.
It is through spiritual warfare you recover what you have lost-health, soundness of mind, peace, joy, possessions, position, honour, etc. Compensation follows deliverance. Restoration follows deliverance. Deliverance is not complete unless there is recovery and restoration of lost assets and possessions.
When the curse is reversed, you recover what you have lost; you come out of bondage. You cease to labour and start to enjoy the blessings of God upon your life.
When the curse is reversed, you begin to receive what you have been denied. When the curse is reversed, impossibilities become possibilities; despair gives way to hope.
When the curse is reversed, frustration gives way to celebration because dreams become reality. I have witnessed dramatic changes in the lives of people after we ministered deliverance to them.
Can you imagine what would have happened if Adam or even Eve had cast the devil out in the Garden of Eden? They will not have lost their relationship with God. They would not have lost the Garden of Eden and all the provision in it.
Under similar circumstances on the other hand, Jesus overcame the temptation of the devil and cast him out. See how successful the ministry of Jesus was and is today!
The Bible says upon mount Zion, there shall be deliverance and holiness, and the house of Jacob shall possess their possession. In other words, until you get the devil behind you, there is no real holiness; and you cannot possess your possessions. As long as you keep allowing the devil space in your life, you will not enjoy your life as a believer. The phrase to ‘possess their possession’ is the same Hebrew word ‘to succeed’. You will have to get rid of the devil if you truly want to succeed.
Have a beautiful week!
