The ball is now in Edo people’s court

- Omoregie Osagiede writes from Benin, Edo State

With the emergence of Governor Godwin Obaseki and Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu as the key contenders in the September governorship election in Edo, the ball is now in the court of the electorate.

After all the intrigues by political actors and godfathers, the final decision of who occupies the number one seat in the state rests squarely on the Edo people.

I therefore call on the Edo people to take their destinies in their hands by voting for the right persons.

They should not sell their voting rights for a morsel of meat like Esau did in the bible.

I advise the youths not to allow unscrupulous politicians use them to perpetrate violence before, during and after the election.

We must get it right this time around.
