Cres­cent Var­sity To Hon­our Mo­hammed Ali

CRES­CENT Univer­sity, Abeokuta, at its 9th con­vo­ca­tion cer­e­mony will con­fer an hon­orary doc­tor­ate de­gree (DSC hon­oris causa) on the Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Of­fi­cer of United King­dom based me­dia, Is­lam­chan­nel, Mo­hammed Ali.

In a state­ment by the Pub­lic Re­la­tions Of­fi­cer of the in­sti­tu­tion, Mr. Idris Katib, Ali is ex­pected to be one of the spe­cial guests at the con­vo­ca­tion, where he would be hon­oured with Doc­tor of Sci­ence (hon­oris causa) in Mass Com­mu­ni­ca­tion in recogni- tion of his pos­i­tive con­tri­bu­tions to free press and the me­dia in­dus­try.

Mo­hammed Ali founded Is­lam Chan­nel in 2004 and or­ga­nized “the first Global Peace and Unity event in 2005, which has since at­tracted over 50,000 mem­bers of the pub­lic.

The univer­sity had pre­vi­ously con­ferred hon­ours on Al­haji Aliko Dan­gote, for­mer Pres­i­dent, Al­haji Shehu Usman Sha­gari, Chair­man Honey­well Group, Oba Otudeko and Sir Kensing­ton Ade­butu.
