Volunteerism Key To Community Development, Says Lagos Govt

LAGOS State Government has asked community leaders to identify and encourage members of their communities to always volunteer, as volunteerism would play a key role in the development of communities.

The Special Adviser to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, Mr. Kehinde Joseph, speaking at an awareness programme on, ‘Volunteerism, a tool for community development’, said it is a fact that various communities in the state cannot get all their needs from government, which is why it is creating space and environment for the people to volunteer.
