THE National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, and a group, Reformation Movement of Nigeria have called on the Federal Government to rejig the nation’s security architecture to meet the security challenges of the time.

According to the party leadership which visited Taraba to sympathise with the government and people of the state over the recent loss of lives to attacks by herdsmen as well as the murder of the abducted member of the House of Assembly, the All Progressives Congress (Apc)-led Federal Government “should quickly overhaul the security structure and come back to their senses and save our people.

“Sad that the government has not been able to live to its assigned mandates of ensuring the protection of the lives and properties of its citizens.”

Secondus admonished Nigerians to tenaciously hold tight to God adding that “God who created Nigeria will answer our prayers.”

Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku noted that his election campaign promises of heralding the much-needed growth to the state was in place but regretted that “peace is still elusive.”

In a communiqué by its national president, Shomuji Jimmy Sho and Director of Media/publicity, Samuel Ajayi Crowther, the ideological group also considered absurd the proposed cattle colony policy of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration.

However, the National Secretary of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Labaran Maku, has condemned the killing of seven citizens of Nasarawa by suspected herdsmen in Tuesday’s night attack, calling on the state and federal governments to end the attacks. The former Minister of Information and the party’s governorship candidate for the 2015 generals in the state, bared his mind in an interview with The Guardian in Lafia.

He regretted that government was failing in its responsibilities, advising Governor Umaru Al-makura to steps up efforts towards protecting innocent citizens that were chased out of their communities along Nasarawa/benue border towns.
