Airfrance/klm raises capacity with B777, A340 aircraft

AIR FRANCE/KLM has concluded plans to raise capacity on the Nigerian routes with Boeing 777 and Airbus 340 aircraft types.

The wide-body state-of-theart airplanes will raise a vailable seat capacity by 10 per cent, enroute Lagos, Abuja and Port-harcourt to Paris, France and Amsterdam in Holland.

General Manager of the airline’s operations in Nigeria and Ghana, Michel Colleau, at a customers’ appreciation evening recently in Lagos, said the decision to bring in bigger aircraft was due to increase passenger traffic on the Nigerian routes.

Colleau said that the management held its Nigerian clients in high esteem and promised that it would continue to introduce wide range of products onboard its flights to further attract patronage.

Speaking on the customers’ appreciation night, he explained that the management organised the entertaining forum to show appreciation to its clients that have been patronising the airline in the last 10 years.

He said: “This is a tradition that we have. Every year, we thank our top customers that travel most from Nigeria to our different destinations. We want to thank them for their loyalty and to show them our newest products that were displayed on the screen.

“Already, we have strong and steady operations from our bases into Nigeria. We operate seven flights from Amsterdam to Lagos and another seven flights from Paris in France. We also operate some five flights weekly into Abuja and Port Harcourt Airports.

“We are increasing our capacity into Nigeria this year by almost nine or 10 per cent seats, which we think is very important. We are very confident that traffic between the two countries will increase this year compared to the last two years. So, we are bringing bigger aircraft with more frequencies compared to 2017,” Colleau said.
