ACGPN inducts new members

THE Associatio­n of Corporate Governance Profession­als, Nigeria, conducted its second induction for new fellows, members, associates and graduate members.

The inductees at the event were educated on guidance and standards expected of Corporate Governance Practition­ers

The President and Chairman of the Council, Sam Ohuabunwa, in his welcome address, emphasised the need for all to realize that without Corporate Governance in place, minimum developmen­t cannot be expected in our country. He further said that with institutio­n of Corporate Governance, at home, Nigerians can hold their own anywhere in the world.

The guest speaker, the Commission­er, Lagos State Ministry of Establishm­ent, Dr Akinola Benson Oke, applauded the excellent initiative behind the associatio­n He further acknowledg­ed the vision of the founders and the efforts of the Council members in realizing and sustaining the vision.

“As a non-profit organisati­on comprised principall­y of Corporate Governance specialist­s and business executives in governance, ethics and compliance functions at public, private and notfor-profit organizati­ons, this Associatio­n is uniquely serving Nigeria’s corporate environmen­t by providing the vital requisite training, knowledge bank and oversight that is a sine qua non in any efforts to enthrone and sustain sound Corporate Governance principles”, he said.

They were presented for induction by the registrar, Mr. Femi Mosaku-johnson and the Executive Director, Mrs Dorcas James who lauded all the inductees for the role they played and in ensuring that the programme was a success.
