Apollo: How To Treat Eye Infection With Home Remedies

- By Paul Adunwoke

AFAMILY physician, Dr. Chukwuma Ogunbor said taking one raw potato daily could cure Apollo. For those interested in alternative solutions to cure Apollo, Ogunbor recommended some exciting package.

He said: “Just cut one potato into halves and place the slices on the infected eyes. Keep the slices on eye for 20 minutes. Repeat this procedure daily, and you will be amazed at the result.

“You won’t believe it, but fresh Aloe Vera gel can be your cure for Apollo eye infection. Just soak a clean cotton pad or handkerchief in Aloe Vera. Place on the infected eye. Aloe Vera medical properties can be your best treatment for Apollo eye infection.

“Adults prefer effective methods to get rid of the infections quickly. Therefore, baking soda can also be the perfect solution. Mix one ta- blespoon of baking soda with boiling water. Let it cool down until it becomes lukewarm. After that, wash your infected eyes with this mixture at least twice daily for quick result.

In the same vein, the doctor said a cold or warm compress could be a simple and effortless solution for pink eye. He explained that soaking a clean cloth in lukewarm or cold water to make a compress, which placed on affected eye (s) for 10 minutes, could work wonders. “Repeat the procedure twice daily,” he said. “If you have prepared a cup of black tea, then do not throw away the leaves. Add some water and soak a cotton pad in the black tea. Apply this cotton pad on your eyes for 10 minutes. Repeat the procedure at least two times daily.” He explained that diluting a tablespoonful of Boric acid in 100ml boiling water is another good solution. He said: “Let the mixture cool down until it becomes lukewarm. Use the mixture to wash your eyes. For best results, repeat the procedure every day for at least one week. Mix some lemon juice with lukewarm water. Soak a cotton pad or a piece of cloth in the mixture and apply to the infected eye. Repeat the procedure at least twice daily for a week to get the best results.

“Coconut oil is a perfect remedy to ease itchiness in red eyes. Just soak a cotton pad in coconut oil. Apply the pad over infected eye. Repeat the procedure every time your eye feels itchy. It is possible to make your own natural eye drops with salt water. Just mix a teaspoon of table salt with a cup of lukewarm water. Put few drops of this mixture in your eye. Repeat the procedure at least twice daily.

“But if home remedies do not help with Apollo eye infection, then it is time to see a doctor. Do not forget that conjunctivitis can lead to a more serious infection. Therefore, the doctor may prescribe eye drops or even antibiotics, if you have a serious case of the infection. Do not underestimate Apollo eye infection. In the worst case scenario, you can even lose your vision.”

Ogunbor explained that conjunctivitis, commonly known as sore eyes, occurs when the transparent membrane of the eye (conjunctiva) becomes inflamed due to an infection or irritation brought on by bacterial, viral or allergic components. “When this occurs, the blood vessels within the conjunctiva become inflamed, making the eye to turn visibly pink or reddish. Only a thorough examination will help diagnose the cause of conjunctivitis. While it can be irritating, conjunctivitis affects the vision, if treatment is not sought at the right time,” he said.
