UEC Ogwe Autonomous Area Conference Receives Church’s General Secretary

OVER two thousand United Evangelica­l Church faithful from Ogwe Autonomous Area Conference came out en masse on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th October at the Area Conference headquarte­rs in Ogwe to receive the Ag. General Secretary of the Church, Elder (Engr.) Andrew Essien. The following personalit­ies of monumental standing were also present: Rev. J.O.A. Ogbonna (JP), Chairman Ogwe Autonomous Area Conference, Rev. S.A.N. Nlewedim, Secretary Ogwe Autonomous Area Conference, Elder E.E. Nwobia, Registered Trustee United Evangelica­l Church, Rev. Dan A. Nwankwo, Chairman Board of Trustees of ADVANCE, Elder N.O. Nwagbara, Elder S.K. Njoku, Deacon Francis Nwuka, President Men’s Fellowship, Deaconess Ngozi Nwosu, President Women Fellowship, Dr. Okebugwu Dan Nwankwo, President Youth Fellowship and Hon. Goodluck Nwaobiwe, Executive Chairman Ukwa West L.G.A. Abia State.

In his welcome address, Rev. J.O.A. Ogbonna said the visit was a succour to the people of Ogwe Autonomous Area Conference. Rev. Chimaeze Nwokogu preached a sermon themed “True Inspection.” He took his text from the Gospel according to St Mark 12:41-44. He reminded all that there is an inspector General (Jesus) that is ever present, seeing all, watching all, searches every heart; He gives His judgment without partiality or favoritism, not looking at any man’s face, size, sex or status. He is an upright judge. The Ag. General Secretary Elder (Engr.) Andrew Essien seized the opportunit­y to inspect facilitate­s at the Area Conference Secretaria­t.

In their remarks, Elder E.E. Nwobia, Rev. Dan Nwankwo implored the General Secretary to use the constituti­onal rights vested in his office in writing appropriat­e reports about the church in general and Ogwe Autonomous in particular. The Executive Chairman Ukwa West L.G.A., Hon. Goodluck Nwaobiwe thanked the General Secretary for coming into Ukwa West LGA, and assured him of a peaceful stay. The councils also resolved to support United Evangelica­l Church, Ogwe Autonomous Area Conference in her programmes.

Several goodwill messages were received from clergies, Churches, individual­s, friends and well-wishers of United Evangelica­l Church, Ogwe Autonomous Area Conference.
