• Okorocha Vows To Reclaim In-law’s Mandate

THE Deputy Governor of Imo State, Mr. Eze Madumere, has urged the Inspector General of Police and public to save his life. In a statement issued, yesterday, and signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Uche Oneuchekwa, Madumere said: “We wish to notify the Inspector General of Police, Commissioner of Police, Imo State and other security agencies to take note of the suspicious actions and inactions of Imo State Government led by His Excellency, Owelle Rochas Okorocha.

“The Deputy Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Prince Eze Madumere has condemned in its totality the unwarranted action of Governor Rochas Okorochaled government in withdrawing most of the key staff attached to Office of the Deputy.”

Madumere recalled that since a High Court pronouncement restoring his office, there has allegedly been gross disregard of his office by the governor.

The deputy governor recalled how a memo emanating from office of the Head of Service, Calistus Ekenze, withdrew his official staffers, saying: “We recall that during series of impeachment plots to remove the Deputy Governor, we raised alarm over grand plans to harm Prince Madumere, following his stance against imposition of the Governor’s son- in-law, Mr. Uche Nwosu and other irreconcilable issues that bordered on policies.

“We wish to state categorically that the sudden posting of the operational staff of the Office of the Deputy Governor is a careful plot to compromise Prince Eze Madumere’s security.”

Meanwhile, Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha has reacted to the removal of his son-in-law’s name, Uche Nwosu, as the All Progressives Congress (APC) Standardbearer in the state, maintaining that the decision of the Adams Oshiomhole-led National Executive Committee was done in bad faith.

In a statement signed by Okorocha’s Chief Press Secretary, Sam Onwuemeodo, yesterday, the governor said Nwosu’s fate would be determined by God and the people of the state and not Oshiomhole.

He accused Oshiomhole of being the brain behind all that transpired during APC primaries in the state, describing the exercise as a sham.
