OLURIN, Brigadier-general Adetunji Idowu (rtd) businessma­n, administra­tor, and politician was 74 yesterday, November 3, 2018. He was born in Ilaro, Ogun State on November 3, 1944 and was educated at Christ’s Church School, Ilaro, 1951-54; St. Paul’s School, Odo-ona, Ibadan, Oyo State, 1955-57; Local Government Authority Modern School, 1958; Egbado College, Ilaro, 195964; Technical College (now The Polytechni­c, Ibadan), Ibadan, 1966; Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna, 1967-70; School of Infantry, Quetta, Pakistan, 1973; Army Command and Staff College, Jaji, 1977-78; National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies,

Kuru, Jos, 1989. He held many command positions in Nigerian Army before he voluntaril­y retired. He was military governor of Oyo State between 1985 and 1988 and former ECOMOG Commander, Liberia. He was former Sole Administra­tor, Ekiti State and was the Gubernator­ial Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Ogun State in the April 2011 General Elections.

OKOH, Most Revd. Nicholas Dikeriechi Orogodo, Primate of All Nigeria

(Anglican Communion) will be 66 on Saturday, November 10, 2018. Born on November 10, 1952, he attended St. Michael’s (Anglican) School, Owa-alero from 1958-64. He trained as Catechist from 1975-76 at Vining Christian Leadership Centre; admitted to Immanuel College of Theology, Ibadan, 1976-79 and obtained a Diploma in Religious Studies, and in Theology. He was appointed 3-Armoured Division Garrison Chaplain, Jos. He obtained B.A (Hons) at University of Ibadan, 1979- 82; and M.A Degree in 198485. He was Vicar- St. Luke’s Military Church, Yaba, Lagos, 1982-84; All Saints (A.H.Q) Church, Abalti Barracks and A.H.Q Garrison Chaplain (PROT) from 198489; Assistant Director, 2 Mechanized Division Chap. (PROT) and Vicar, All Souls Military Church (PROT), Ibadan from 1990-91; St. Augustine’s Military Church (PROT) Mokola, Ibadan and 2 Division Garrison Chaplain from 1992-93; Deputy Director Chaplain, 3 Armoured Division and VicarAll Saints Military Church, Rukuba, Jos from 1993-97, Deputy Director, 1 Mechanized Division Chaplain (PROT) and Vicar-st. Luke’s Military Church, Kaduna from 1997-99; Assistant Director Chaplain (PROT) AHQ Group of Churches, Lagos from 1999-01. Commission­ed a Lieutenant on November 1, 1982, he was promoted Captain on November 1, 1986. He rose to the rank of Major on November 1, 1991 and on November 1, 1996; he was promoted Lieutenant Colonel in the Nigerian Army, a position he held before the House of Bishops elected him Bishop of Asaba in March 2001.
