‘ Understanding, Patience Tools For Successful Marriage’
HIS Glory Chapel Int’l Church, Lagos, has ended its yearly leadership and economic lectures / Silver Jubilee marriage anniversary, tagged, ‘ Honour, Glory And Favour’.
The event commenced on October 8.
Speaking at the event, the presiding Bishop of the church, Dr. Uchenna Dedegu Chukwuegu ( JP), assured Christians that God would honour and favour them, just as He honoured and favoured David in the Bible. He referenced 1Samuel 16: 11 and 2Kings 6: 8- 18, 7: 1 to buttress his point.
He said: “When you are a king, glory follows you around, God can only honour and favour a person when the Lord is with him.”
Corroborating other men of God such as Archbishop J. I. Ojo, Archbishop Lwanga Tusubira, Archbishop Akinbode, Bishop Charles Ighele, Bishop Wilson Elimaiga, Bishop Bola Arinola, Apostles James Iyanda, Prof. Isaac Nnamdi Obasi and Dr. Praise Tete, the cleric said the church has a place in the economy of the nation because God is the creator and controller of the universe, so, He is in charge of every situation.
Prayer, according to the presiding Bishop, is a determinant factor in a nation as the Bible recorded that, by faith shall no man prevail. Prayer paves way
in difficult situation like
COVID- 19 pandemic.
“Prayer helps to build a strong relationship with God. Let it be noted that the Church and prayer have an integral part to play in the economy, as God cannot be separated from the economy,” he said.
Defining prayer as ‘ pouring your heart cry to God,’ Dr. Tete, said: “The answer to every situation in the world is in the church. The place of prayer is very important for divine intervention because the spiritual takes care of the physical. With the word of God and prayer, a person can penetrate anywhere, successfully.”
He noted that as long as the church keeps praying, the gate of hell shall not prevail.
Dr. Uchenna and Rev. Chu Favour Chukwuegu, who used
the occasion to mark their 25th marriage anniversary, thanked God for keeping them together in spite of the challenges.
Advising young couples and singles, Chukwuegu listed focus, respect, understanding, patience, tolerance, submission, love, strength, courage and determination as the basic tools to succeed in marriage. They also noted that in these tools, God must be the foundation of their homes.
Marriage, according to them, is blessed, approved, instituted by God and therefore, everything about marriage is good.
