Immigration boss commends Ugwuanyi over commitment to security
Cof the Nigeria Immigration Service ( NIS), Muhammad Babandede, has commended Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, for his commitment to the security of lives and property in the state.
Babandede, who spoke during a visit to the Government House, Enugu, yesterday, stressed that Governor Ugwuanyi’s administration had been supportive to the NIS.
He was in Enugu with his entourage to assess the degree of damage done to the new NIS Building of the Enugu State Command, during the # ENDSARS protests in the state.
Commending the governor for his administration’s support towards the completion of the office project, which he said, was billed for inauguration a day before the # ENDSARS protests, he disclosed that the state government donated four transformers and vehicles to the service.
“The vehicles were not only donated to us, but also to all the law enforcement agencies so that security of lives and property of the people is assured in Enugu State. We commend you for the good job,” he added.
Maintaining that Enugu people were peace loving, he commiserated with the state government and families of victims of the hijacked # ENDSARS protests, especially civilians and security agents, who lost their loved ones during the incident.
Assuring that the Immigration office would be inaugurated, Babandede also applauded Ugwuanyi for setting up a Panel of Inquiry to probe the loss of lives and destruction of private and public property during the protests, saying: “That shows that you care.”
