Plans Befitting Burial For Mother

-

THE former chairman of the defunct Ritetime/ World Airways Airline, Otunba Peter Obafemi, has perfected all arrangements to give his mother, Madam Patience Olutayo Obafemi, a befitting burial.

Many who attended the 90th birthday of the deceased four years ago would definitely attest to the fact that it was a grand party, which, for many reasons, became a reference point in the social circle. The birthday soiree was witnessed by the high and the mighty across all walks of life. The Ekiti State- born aviation top shot had earlier planned to celebrate his mother’s 95th birthday in August in a more grand way, but according to the popular saying, ‘ man proposes, God disposes.’ This is not to be, as the nonagenarian succumbed to the cold hands of death days back, just few months to that birthday.

It was confirmed that since the death of the Abeokuta, Ogun State- born trader, Obafemi has been mourning, especially because of the strong bond he shared with her while alive.

But the former governorship aspirant has no reason to question God, his mother having lived a fulfilled life. In fact, he has every reason to thank God for so many things. Not too many are as lucky as he is in life. Indeed, if there is anything at all that he is thankful to God for, it is the fact that He has kept his mother alive till old age in good health until she bid farewell to this world some weeks back. As expected, the prominent socialite and his siblings would leave no stone unturned in giving their late mother a befitting burial.

As Obafemi hinted, the funeral programme is expected to kick- off on April 12, with service of songs/ wake- keep and is expected to reach its crescendo on April 16, when she would be lowered into her final resting place at the Ebony Vault, Ikoyi, Lagos.

Obafemi started his first business enterprise, named Budget TV in 1985 and Appliances Rental Service Store on Central Avenue in East Orange, New Jersey and was a consultant in the opening of Heritage Spas on Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn, New York, which became the place of choice for discerning customers.

Between 1985 and 1988, he owned one of the largest Western Union franchises in the state of New Jersey and was a consultant in the opening of Heritage Spas on Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn, New York, which became the place of choice for discerning customers. The businessman made the impossible possible when he opened the Lagos- Atlanta direct flight route with his Ritetime/ World Airways.
