Deputy Chief Whip Didn’t Slap Former Senate President—

Abia APC Chairman

- From Gordi Udeajah, Umuahia

THE Chairman of Abia State All Progressives Congress ( APC), Donatus Nwankpa, yesterday, debunked online reports that the Deputy Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, slapped former Senate President, Dr. Ken Nnamani at her Umunneochi country home in Abia State, when Nnamani and some APC leaders visited her.

He also debunked another report that Nnamani was denied entry by an Abia party chieftain, Prince Benjamin Benedict Apugo into his residence, when he visited him along with party leaders.

Senator Nnamani was in Abia State, last weekend, with APC membership re- registration and re- validation monitoring team to monitor the ongoing exercise in the state and also pay a visit to some party members.

One online report alleged Onyejeocha not only verbally abused Nnamani, but also slapped him on both cheeks, when he allegedly sued for peace and comradeship to reign between her and the Minister of State for Mines, Dr. Uche Ogah, who are both APC members from the same Isiukwuato/ Umunneochi Federal Constituency.

Another report alleged Prince Apugo denied Senator Nnamani entry into his Umuahia residence and rained curses on him, describing him as a “traitor and political chameleon.”

Debunking the reports, yesterday, in Umuahia, Nwankpa, who served two terms as a member of Abia State House of Assembly and thereafter, as Housing Commissioner, described the publication as “falsehood, based on the reporter’s figment of imagination.”
