-

FOUNDEROF Blessed Hope Foundation, Titilayo Eboh, in partnership with the International Federation of Women Lawyers ( FIDA), has commissioned a maternity ward in Kogi State.

Chairperson of FIDA in the state, Lilian Ajuma Okolo, who disclosed this at the commissioning of the renovated maternity ward as part of activities to celebrate this year’s International Women Day ( IWD), noted that the initiative was to celebrate women and mothers. She explained that the rehabilitation of the ward at the Kogi State Specialist Hospital was the brainchild of FIDA, with the support of Mrs. Mary Titilayo Eboh, a philanthropist, Matron of FIDA and Founder, Blessed Hope

Foundation, who has been consistently reaching out to the vulnerable and orphanage homes in the country. Also speaking, Director General of the state office of the Public Defender and Citizen’s Rights Commission ( PDCRC), Zakari Abdullahi, urged women to always stand up and fight for their rights.

He noted that women, over the years, had suffered series of deprivations, stressing that the 35 per cent affirmative action is far from being achieved by the successive governments in the country. On her part, Coordinator, North Central Zone and past chairperson in Kogi State chairperson of FIDA, Tina Tims Ejiga, described this year’s celebration as quite challenging, but commended government for always supporting FIDA’S programmes and activities.
