Mildred Okwo’s La Femme Anjola Hits Cinemas

T HEeagle has landed! The much- anticipate­d crime thriller by the Audrey Silva Company, La femme Anjola, is ready and it is now showing in cinemas across the country. Directed by Mildred Okwo, the movie is a psychologi­cal thriller about a young male Stock Broker ( Nonso Bassey) whose life became entangled after he fell in love for a singer ( Rita Dominic) married to a wealthy gangster.

Scripted by Tunde Babalola, the movie features award- winning actress Rita Dominic and actor Nonso Bassey in lead roles. This will be Okwo’s third movie as a director under the stable of the Audrey Silva Company ( TASC). The producer, writer, director, entertainm­ent lawyer, talent manager CEO and Co- founder of TASC had earlier helmed The Meeting and Surulere for the top- notch production company.

A filmmaker in the profession­al class, Okwo who studied theatre arts at the University of Benin before she proceeded to study law at Whittier Law School, Orange Country, California, shot to limelight when she wrote, co- produced and directed the star studded movie 30 Days starring Genevieve Nnaji, Joke Silva and Segun Arinze in leading roles. A member of the Nigerian Selection Committee for the Oscars and an advocate for a profession­ally run Nollywood industry, Okwo recently signed a television series titled Bankersngr as director and producer. Outside writing, directing and producing, Okwo manages the shinning talents of a number of notable screen actresses including Rita Dominic
