I’ll Be First To Hand Over To Successor In Oyo, Says Makinde

OYO State Governor, Seyi Makinde, yesterday, said no governor in the state had ever handed over to the successor after expiration of their tenure in office.

Speaking during the inaugurati­on and duty commenceme­nt service of Christ Apostolic Church

( CAC) Worldwide’s eighth President, held at the CAC Internatio­nal headquarte­rs, Ibadan,

Makinde promised that he would be the first governor in the state to hand over to his successor.

“No governor has ever handed over to his successor in this state, Baba Lam Adeshina didn’t hand over to his successor. Former Governor Ladoja didn’t hand over to former Governor Adebayo Alao- Akala, just as Alao- Akala didn’t hand over to Abiola Ajimobi, and Ajimobi also didn’t hand over to me. But I am standing in front of the altar of God, I will be the first governor to hand over to my successor,” Makinde said.

The governor, who lauded the smooth process that led to the inaugurati­on of the new CAC President, said though

Nigeria is at a crossroads, priority of all Nigerians should be how to end crisis of division in the nation.

Pastor Samuel Olusegun Oladele was inaugurate­d as the 8th President of CAC Worldwide.

Oladele, who until his new appointmen­t was CAC’S General Superinten­dent, in his acceptance speech, affirmed his readiness to find lasting solution to lingering crisis rocking the church, calling for the support of CAC members worldwide to move the church forward.
