AT the moment, Biyi was homeless, jobless and wallowed in abject poverty. He even got death threats from assassins and hired killers sent to kill him by Arowojobe. When he weighed the options and knew that his life was in complete danger, he moved out of Lagos and relocated to far away Ajasan village in Ekiti State. Biyi, a formerly very handsome and chubby guy, now looked gaunt and haggard due to penury and lack. He was so poor that one could compare him to the proverbial church rats, and in order not to die of hunger and starvation, he took to farming as a last resort.

Meanwhile, Mosun, his former wife, was now living with Arowojobe in one of his grand mansions in highbrow Ikeja GRA. The powerful, rich and ebullient chief now had five wives and led an extravagant and expensive lifestyle. He was a drug baron and also had investments in oil and gas. Apart from the five wives living in his houses, chief had numerous girlfriends scattered all over the country and beyond. He frequented Europe and America to seal business deals and enjoy life to the maximum. All his wives lived in stupendous wealth and had chauffeurs assigned to drive them anywhere they desired. Sincerely, the robust- looking chief was never satisfied with women; he was always in need and thirsty to get more women, just like a man’s crave and desire for food and water. Pronto, he started eyeing another very beautiful young lady he met at Shoprite supermarket not quite long ago. The lady was light- skinned, tall and enchanting. She had luscious and mesmerising curves and figure that could make a monk break strict religious vows. It seemed this would be the last straw for the greedy chief. The delectable lady, named Ronke, was the young wife of a very powerful native doctor, called Baba Ajanlekoko. Neighbours living very close to Baba Ajanlekoko hinted him that they saw Ronke getting down from Arowojobe’s Hummer Jeep and he was pecking her lustfully. The powerful native doctor was mad with anger and threatened fire and brimstone. “Whoever sleeps with the wife of Ajanlekoko sleeps with the scorpion and plays with the lethal venom of the Puff Adder!” the herbalist roared angrily: “Thunder and lightning will visit any man who sleeps with my wife. I utter this curse and statement with the powers given to me by the gods. And so shall it be.”

The herbalist was really fuming with unmitigated anger that particular Friday evening. Like a cow being taken to the abattoir to meet the butcher, Arowojobe was unaware that he would pay the supreme price very soon. The following Saturday, while making love to Ronke, Arowojobe crowed seven times like a cock, somersaulted and died tragically. What a painful death.

A year later, his business empire crumbled and all his wives began to suffer. Biyi had now become a big time farmer in Ekiti State and was very rich and successful. He had farms all over Nigeria and main outlets in Lagos. He was now married to a pretty, dutiful and respectful young lady named Banke and they had two lovely kids from the relationship, even as his business continued to grow in leaps and bounds. His former wife, Mosun, became childless and a widow. Biyi Adelanwa continued to enjoy his life in peace and joy till today. God never sleeps and He answers prayers.
