Cleric links rising insecurity to ungodlines­s, others

NATIONAL President of The Apostolic Church Nigeria, Pastor Samspon Igwe, has attributed rising insecurity in the country to ungodlines­s of Nigerian leaders.

He appealed to leaders to rule in the fear of God urging Nigerians to join hands in the fight against insecurity in the country.

Igwe gave the charged during his familiaris­ation tour to the Apostolic Church Nigeria, Eket Field, Akwa Ibom State Territory. He urged government at all levels to galvanise eco - nomic policies that would reduce youth unemployme­nt, which he said, had opened the vista for inse - curity, banditry, unknown gunmen and kidnapping in a countr y hitherto known for peace. He lamented that poor leadership had caused several injustices and depri - vations in the country and challenged Nigerians, especially Christian to keep praying and call upon God for peace and stability in the country.

The cleric also admonished leaders to do their best to improve the living conditions of the ordinary Nigerian, maintainin­g that situations in the country would have been worse if the Church had not been praying.

“Security should be everybody’s concern. Security should be everybody’s business and as such,

Nigerians should pay attention to the fact after every 10 minutes if they don’t see their loved ones, they should quickly describe such members of their families and where he could be found. “Lack of fear of God is the reason we are witnessing the myriads of problems in the country,” he said.
