- By Chinonso Ihekire

RISING Afro- pop artiste, Olanrewaju Afolayan, professionally known as Boogar, has come through on the music scene with his second Extended Playlist dubbed, I Am Boogar.

The new body of work marks the music executive- turned artiste’s fresh and vibrant entry into the Naija music scene. His first EP titled Now OR Never, which he released last year, contains four songs — Payan, Simple things, Don't care and On me, featuring Vader the Wildcard.

“It was just an introduction to let the world know who I am and what I am up to. Each of the songs was carefully crafted to reflect what I have experienced. It is just there to let you enjoy the moment and the vibe,” he said.

The playlist houses five stellar tracks woven around youthful lifestyles. Running through Afro- Hip/ Hop and Pop genres, it connects with a

youth- centric groove, as well as inspiring themes on hustle and ambition, among others.

“We have struggles that we need to overcome. These issues come up and we need to talk about them. That is why I made this EP,” Boogar added.

The artiste also lauded the use of songwriters, affirming that it is a veritable way to make evergreen sounds.

“I culled my team of songwriters and producers to make this record. I always wanted to give the best so I know I can do better when working with others.”

On his plans, Boogar said he would continue to make strides in the industry with a view to making timeless music that would connect with youths.
