Group demands copy of NDDC’S forensic report from Malami

society organisation, Media Initiative Against Injustice, Violence and Corruption ( MIIVOC), has asked the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami ( SAN) for a copy of the Niger Delta D e v e l o p m e n t Commission’s ( NDDC) forensic audit report.

The group expressed concern that almost two weeks after it was submitted to the Federal Government, the content of the report was yet to be made public.

In a statement issued yesterday by the Executive Director of MIIVOC, Dr. Walter Duru, the group said it was invoking the provisions of the Act to make what it described as “a single demand,” insisting that the AGF had received the letter.

“The MIIVOC is a Nigerian Civil Society Organisation with interest in the campaign against injustice, violence, immorality and corruption.

“We felicitate with you on the receipt of the NDDC Forensic Audit Report. In view of the right of Nigerians to know, we most respectfully request a copy of the forensic audit report on the NDDC, as submitted to your office.

“We expect that the response to this request reaches us within seven days of receipt of this letter, as required by the FOI Act through our email address and a hard copy sent to our office in Abuja,” the statement reads.

Speaking in a recent live television broadcast, Duru had urged Malami to make public the report, which the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Apkabio, submitted to him and which had been forwarded to President Muhammadu Buhari last week in compliance to section two of the FOI Act.
