In this interview with IJEOMA THOMAS- ODIA, Humblesmith shares his passion for music and lifestyle.

SHarewith us your growing up and how you ventured into music?

Growing up was tough; it wasn’t really an easy one. I won’t go into all the details, but let me tell you some. I grew up with my siblings, eight of us. At some point, I was selling moi moi.

have worked as a disco jockey and a dancer. I was into drama too and had my crew. I also went into leather and belt selling. Growing up was fun to a point but I was a hustler; anything creative to make money, count me in.

What influenced your genre of music?

The places I’ve been to, the environment I found myself in, and the kind of music I listen to. All have a role to play in the genre of music I’m into, but I’m not limited. It doesn’t mean I can’t go into other genre, I’m a versatile artiste, but I feel I’m doing great in my lane.

You released a new single recently. Tell us about it.

Yes, it’s titled ‘ Dance’. I recorded it in 2020, it’s crazy, the beat is dope. I recorded the song in 40 minutes. It was like that. It seems to be the rave of the moment. It has over 3000 videos of its challenge on Tik Tok. Dance has this irresistible feeling, ‘ Them no born you well, you go dance when you hear am’. Dance is so far one of my greatest hits, I’m using Dance to target a wider and global fan base. Trust me, Dance is the least of what is coming.

Your hit single Osinachi brought you to limelight. What informed it?

The Holy Spirit inspired Osinachi; I got this information in the church. At a point, I almost gave up, but the Lord called me back and gave me the song Osinachi hence the title, which means ‘ It comes from God’. I’m always confident knowing that generations to come will play Osinachi. It’s not an ordinary song, it’s sent from heaven and I believe it has made a great impact in the world. Osinachi also tells my story to a point, my family and what we’ve been through. God is simply the greatest.

We shouldn’t judge people for the choices they make, because we all make bad decisions.
